Hello Everybody:

My name is Tony Caruso and I welcome you to the Simply Tony website!

I was born and raised in Long Island, New York, and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1985.  I never pursued any level of formal training in voice or instrument, although my dad, renowned Charles Anthony performed for 56 seasons (1954-2010) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. However, there’s been that special musical beholdance and appreciation within my heart, since I was a small boy;  ironically influenced in part by The Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, Clarence White, The Kentucky Colonels, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, David Grisman.

In 2004, I chose to step onto on my own platform with the help of my guitar teacher at the time Jeff Jones and my friend Jim Page. 

I remain since 2007, a member of the five-piece bluegrass band “The Sundries” (www.pickfordsundries.com), actively playing in the Tampa Bay region.

My Americana / Folk with a twist of Country, Rock, Reggae, Blues & Bluegrass music is now officially expressed by “The Simply Tony Band”, comprised and complemented by Fil Pate on lead guitar, Tom Murray on bass, John Nowicki on drums and Simply Tony on guitar and vocals.

Today, I live with my beautiful wife Diane and my inspiring son Charlie, in the majestic earth setting of the Withlacoochee State Forest in Webster, Florida, by which the collective, has awakened and motivated so much of my original music.

This is the beginning of so much more to come and share for your enjoyment!
